  Tasting Notes

2002 was one of the truly great vintages in Australia, and more particularly at the Pikes Estate in the Polish Hill River Region in the Clare. It was a long and very even ripening year, with no real spike in temperatures, and fruit being picked anything from 1 to 2 weeks later than normal. The result in the case of Neil's 02's was wonderfully intense, complex yet charming and vibrant fruit characters. Great balance, great intensity, freakishly long on the finish. It does not get much better than this.
