This is the 4th release of this blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon, with fruit sourced off the "Ashmead" block of vines planted back in 1944 on the Elderton Estate. The block only yields 2-3 tons per hectare, which explains the extraordinary concentration of flavor the wine delivers. Dark, rich ripe characters of plum and berry mingle with exotic spice nuances. After 3 years in oak, the wine is supple and beautifully balanced. This wine demands slow cooked lamb, beef, or game such as venison or duck. |
