Print this Wine         1999 Pikes "Premio" Sangiovese   CLARE VALLEY/SOUTH AUSTRALIA                 October Release Case Size: 6/750ml Bordeaux Blends       This is a cheeky little wine. A blend dominated by Sangiovese and softened with small percentages of Cabernet and Merlot. Medium purple and red in color lives up to the bright, red berry aromas of cherries and raspberries, coupled with nuances of dried herbs and very subtle oak. Medium bodied palate with elegant fruit characters makes the wine delicious to drink now. Fine tannins and well balanced oak give the wine good persistence on the finish. Has good cellaring potential as the Sangiovese softens out. Give it 5 to 6 years.
