The most interesting, complex and savoury Rose made in Australia, and is right up there in global terms. This is free run juice (Saignee means to bleed) from Pinot and Shiraz put straight into older barrels and fermented with the same care and diligence he applies to his other wines. Bright red fruits greet you on the bouquet, with raspberry and strawberry being the most obvious. There is no oak flavour because of the age of the barrels. On the palate you see the effect of the oak fermentation with a creamy texture. The finish is very dry with pronounced acid. Drink up young whilst the wine is fresh. |
