There is no mistaking a Frankland Estate Shiraz. The nose offers extaordinary pepper and delicate fruit notes. More affinity with Cozes Hermitage or Cornas than Australia!! On the palate, the pepper plays second fiddle to layer upon layer of beautiully intense and well rounded red and black fruits. A multiplicty of secondary notes from tobacco through to smoked meats add to the magic.
The wine has extrordinary balance and finesse, and finish just keeps going. This is a WORLD CLASS Shiraz from one of the remotest vineyards on the planet. Don't hesitate to pop the cork!! |
