Margaret River is not that well known for Shiraz, and yet this wine makes a very strong statement about the Regions potential for it.
Its dark purple color hints at dense characters. On the nose dark berry flavors mingle with floral notes along with earthy tones. A whiff of subtle spice and cedar characters add to the inviting aromas, in part coming from the predominant use of French barrique.
The palate reveals beautiful dense black and red fruits, with blackcurrant and blueberry the dominant characters. Again spice, pepper and earth notes add to the package. Beautiful well-balanced rounded flavors linger right to the finish. For the money this wine is hard to beat. Drink now or stick a bottle or two away for 4 to 6 years.
Versatile with food, as it ‘s elegance with not overwhelm more delicate meat dishes, and yet it can withstand rich reduction sauces also.
