Print this Wine         1998 Elderton "CSM" (Cab/Shiraz/Merlot)   NURIOOTPA, BAROSSA VALLEY                 January Release   Bordeaux Blends       A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Shiraz and 10% Merlot. Rich red in color, the nose delivers hints of red and black fruits, spice, licorice and mineral notes. On the palate you quickly realize this is an immensely complex wine, with the trio of varieties each contributing something different. The Cabernet is the backbone delivering a mouthful of rich fruit and tannins, the Shiraz gives wonderful spice and chocolate nuances, and the Merlot rounds out the velvety smooth finish. 1998 was a tremendous vintage and will age gracefully for 10 to 12 years.
