Print this Wine         2001 Pikes Riesling   CLARE VALLEY                 January Release   Riesling       Neil and Andrew Pike have yet again produced a superb dry Riesling. Neil’s idea has always been to have a dry Riesling that offers immediate pleasure. On the nose the wine delivers wonderfully vibrant lime, lemon characters with dusty, earthy undertones. On the palate the wines vibrancy seals the romance. Great definition of citrus character all bound up in a well structured wine, with layers of earth minerals and dusty, chalky notes. This wine has years to go. In its youth it provides instant pleasure. Give it 10 or 15 years, and it will provide even greater drinking pleasure, as it slowly matures and takes on even more interesting flavor dimensions.
