The fruit is sourced from a low yielding (1 tonne/acre) dry grown old vines in deep gray loam soils, planted back in the 1940’s. It’s dark purple/black color sense something of the wines intensity. Here Sergio’s Italian background possibly helped, as he was able to negotiate with an elderly farmer who settled here after the Second World War and planted grapes.
