Wine Advocate # 186 - 2005 Frankland Estate |
| Comment: |
The deep crimson-colored 2005 Shiraz Isolation Ridge Vineyard gives up an excellent bouquet of Asian spices, smoke, pepper, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. Fleshy, savory, and nicely balanced, it is a different but equally valid expression of Shiraz than one finds in South Australia. 90pts
Frankland Estate is one of Australia’s premier purveyors of Dry Riesling. The 2008 releases are uniformly outstanding.

Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - 2005 Frankland Estate Shiraz Isolation Ridge Vineyard Frankland River |
| Comment: |
Inky ruby. Dark cherry, black raspberry, licorice and smoke aromas, complicated by dried violet and cracked pepper. Smooth and rich on the palate, which offers spicy, focused red and dark berry flavors and a supple texture. Finishes with velvety, broad tannins and alluringly spicy persistence. 91 points |
