    2006 Heathcote "Myola" Cabernet Merlot

Publication:   Robert Parker The Wine Advocate (Feb 2009)
Title:   Wine Advocate #181 - 2006 Heathcote "Myola" Cabernet Merlot 94+pts
Comment: The 2006 Myolo is a blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep crimson-colored, it gives up a racy, high-toned aromatic array of toasty oak, cinnamon, clove, cassis, black raspberry, and black currant. This is followed by a sophisticated, intellectual style of wine owing more to Bordeaux than Napa. It has plenty of concealed structure, complex flavors, and excellent length. After a half-dozen years of further cellaring its drinking window should extend from 2016 to 2036. 94+pts

Publication:   Stephen Tanzer International Wine Cellar (Sept/Oct 2008)
Title:   Stephen Tanzers International Wine Cellar
Comment: ($87; 40% each of merlot and cabernet franc and 20% cabernet sauvignon) Bright ruby. Explosively perfumed, offering a sexy bouquet of ripe dark berries, incense and graphite. Muskier tobacco and sassafras qualities arrive with air and carry onto the palate. Sweet blackcurrant and cherry flavors stain the palate and are framed by velvety tannins, which also lend gentle grip. Clings impressively on the finish, echoing the tobacco and minerals. This could run with plenty of high-end Napa wines. 93pts
