Title:   Australia, Still Hot 2006 Mount Horrocks "Cordon Cut" Riesling 90pts
Comment: The 2006 Riesling “Cordon Cut” is sweet but has no botrytis. Gold-colored, it has a lovely floral and tropical fruit perfume, mango and kiwi flavors, and vibrant acidity. Drink it with fruit tarts and cheese cake.

Title:   Wine Spectator - 2006 Mount Horrocks "Cordon Cut" Riesling - 94 Points
Comment: Sweet and rich, yet beautifully lifted with lacy acidity. Passionfruit, lime and green plum weave through the Riesling fruit. 94 Points

Publication:   Stephen Tanzer International Wine Cellar (September 2007)
Title:   International Wine Cellar - 2006 Mount Horrocks "Cordon Cut" Riesling - 91 Points
Comment: Bright yellow. Intense pear and apricot aromas offer resiny depth, but are simultaneously lifted by a bright overlay of white pepper. Zesty orchard and pit fruit flavors are strikingly pure and deep, with good acid lift on the close. Gains weight with air, finishing juicy and long, with an echo of ripe pear. I'd serve this with a meal rather than at the end. 91 Points

Comment: "You don’t have to be a dessert fan to appreciate this wine – just a lover of intense, sweetie styles. Chill it down but not too much, as you want to smell its wonderful, intense aromatics of honeysuckle, candied citrus and honey."

Comment: Floral, tea-leaf and caramel aromas of shriveled grapes, plus honey and crème brulée notes. There is some acid firmness and a little bitterness to conclude, which helps give it a clean finish. Lively and delicious. 5 Stars - 93 Points

Title:   Matthew Jukes 100 Best Australian Wines 2007 - 2006 Mount Horrocks "Cordon Cut" Riesling
Comment: Every year, Steph’s sweetie makes the hit parade. She leads the pack and the pack seems to have stopped chasing. A wonderful treat and a magical flavour that I never tire of.

Publication:   The Age (Australia) (May 2007)
Title:   The Age - 2006 Mount Horrocks Cordon Cut Riesling - 4 1/2 Stars
Comment: There are several ways of obtaining the sugar levels in grapes to make truly luscious sweet white wines. In cordon cutting, ripe bunches of grapes are cut from the vine, but left hanging on the trellis to concentrate the sweet juice by part-drying. The result in this Clare Valley sweetie is a juicy, grapey confection that retains some floral and citrus varietal cues, along with considerable sweetness and intensity, and a firm backbone. 4 1/2 Stars

Publication:   Sydney Morning Herald (April 2007)
Title:   Sydney Morning Herald - 2006 Mount Horrocks - Best Sticky 93 Points
Comment: Best Sticky 93/100 A very sweet, non-botrytised Clare Valley wine. Aromas of honey and crème brulee; floral, caramel and tea leaf. Concentrated, with firm acidity and a trace of bitterness countering the considerable sweetness. Food: crème brulee
