Joe is one of the great lateral thinkers in the Aussie wine industry. First generation Aussie of Italian descent, Joe has charted a very individual approach. His whole regime is focused on producing wine with “soul”, with a character that you identify, but can’t necessarily work out how he did it. Joe has adapted “Old World” winemaking techniques to suit the “New World”: Open tank ferment – an oak regime that blends French, German and American oak. Not forgetting the “Amarone” racks that are fundamental to his Cabernet Merlot and “La Magia” Late Harvest Riesling.
