Can be a chilly and downright forbidding place in winter. The wind blows hard from the south, sweeps the plain with frigid air drawn up from the Antarctic Ocean and circulates it around the mountain range to the north before rushing back to whence it came. |

Craiglee is one of those very special labels, born in the main out of a particular site. Bottles of late 1870’s vintages Shiraz, discovered in the original 3 storey gravity fed winery, exhibit the very same white peppercorn character that is the trademark of every vintage of the post 1979 Craiglee. Terroir rules here. Very “un-typical” of Australia Shiraz, displaying shades of Cornas.
